2009 Legendary Horsewomen Presenters |
Clinicians |
Linda Parelli :
Born
in Singapore, Linda Parelli moved to Australia with her family when she
was 12, where she was first introduced to dressage. Linda hated all the
mechanical devices she was told to use in order to control her horses,
but grudgingly accepted this 'training' as normal. The more she observed
the horse world, the more it made her heart ache.
As fate would have it, Linda was in a tack store one day, purchasing yet
more 'magical' gadgets when her eyes wandered to a video. Her curiosity
piqued as the cowboy executed perfect flying lead changes and beautiful
slide stops and spins, presenting a picture of total harmony. It took a
few moments for Linda to realize that this cowboy, Pat Parelli, was
riding bridleless.
Linda signed up immediately for the course with Pat. In that very first
clinic, she got immediate, positive results with Regalo, the dangerous
horse who had challenged her for years. Linda went on to promote Parelli
clinics in Australia, and a few years later the dressage rider and the
cowboy were married. Linda Parelli is one of only four people in the world
to achieve a Parelli Five Star Premier rating. She stars in all the
Parelli tour presentations, commands a presence in the Parelli RFD
television shows, and teaches courses at the Parelli Centers. Much of the
Parelli written material and educational systems has come from Linda's
passion to make Pat Parelli's teachings available to horse lovers around
the world. Linda and Pat live at the Parelli Centers in Pagosa Springs,
Colorado and Ocala, Florida.
